At work, I'm a Corporal of Marines in an aviation electrician shop. I work on AV/8-B Harrier jump jets.
I've deployed once to Al Asad, Iraq, and once for the USS Tarawa's last Westpac with the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit. The Marine Corps is the best thing that ever happened to me. I get out in July '09.
Why not reenlist? I'm working on my bachelor's in engineering technology from Old Dominion University. The school works with the military to support deployments and operational commitments.
With that bachelor's, I'm going to start grad school next fall at Portland State for computer engineering. I'm interested in robotics, programming, space exploration, and interfaces; specifically in improving the interface between the user and the airplane or spacecraft.
I got my private pilot's license in a Cessna 150. I fly out of Somerton airport, the most southwestern airport in Arizona.
What's a spacejaggy?
Space is awesome. Jaguars are equally awesome. It's colloquial, best experienced in the sort of affectionate and exasperated tone one uses when one finds one's cat has bypassed the food bowl in favor of tunneling into the fifty-pound bag of Friskies.
